It should be noted in advance that this is typically NOT a restaurant review blog. However, a recent experience at Del Campo (on 6th and I) in Washington DC forced me to share something innovative and delicious with the world.

Don't worry... you're not going insane, and your eyes are NOT playing tricks on you. This DIVINE creation comes to you courtesy of innovative Chef Victor Albisu and his new restaurant, Del Campo. My wife and I had the pleasure of eating there for our special Valentine's Day date and it did not disappoint. Not only did we indulge in delicious wine, great seafood, and a delicious meat selection, but we finished the meal off with these little gems. There has NEVER been anything so delicious to ever enter my face. I am a HUGE Twinkie enthusiast. I didn't pay $500 for a box on eBay when they were pulled from the shelves, but I followed their return to the market closely and celebrated accordingly by consuming a box once I could get my hands on them. This is a "snack" food that cannot be replicated easily, and I HIGHLY encourage eating enthusiasts who may be reading this to make the trip to DC and try it first hand.
